A Rose Upon Request Recycled String Bikini Top

ABOUT THE ART:
Recently, my spawn (@rylerson) requested that I (and a handful of friends/family) draw them a #flower on a pink background, so that they could collage them all into one meaningful, floral background image to use as a lock screen background... Hence, the name of the series: A Rose Upon Request
(the placements on this particular bikini started as a bit of a laugh, as my adult child chuckled while suggesting it… then we decided we love it, and here we are 🙃🤷🏻♀️☺️)
I've been #FeelingOutOfTouch with my #ArtPractice recently, so I #PushedMyself a little further, and #ChallengedMyself with even more limitations, in an attempt to #ReignItIn, and actually finish a thing... which seems to have worked in my favor...?
the additional challenges were as follows:
1) greyscale reference photo (will try to locate deep in my photos library 😅)
2) upside-down reference photo
3) WORK in greyscale (I changed the device's color preferences, so I can't tell which *color* my brush is; only the shade/tone/contrast... though I chose a single palette, so the colors would be limited, anyway)
The finished result was the first purple rose. 🌹 Then I f*cked around with color balance and such, and made a few more because, like I said, I can't reign it in... Together, they became a canvas for hand lettering, and after hearing of the iconic Iris Apfel's passing, the quote became clear.
